It is now week 5 of being at home. Initially, I was unsure of how long this would last, but now we have settled into what is becoming regular life for us all. While it certainly is strange being home all the time, I think that we are all trying to find ways to create something normal where there wasn't. The first thing that helps is getting ready for the day. Waking up to shower, change, and look presentable to go absolutely no where seems counterintuitive, but it helps set the tone for the day. Lately, I've been creating crazy clothing combinations because: 1) I can, 2) nobody else can see my mismatch, and 3) it really makes Garrett laugh! Next, I set a daily routine. It's nice that we meet as a class on Zoom the same time everyday, and afterwards (if there is no other meeting) I will make it a priority to get some exercise. Basically, I have PE all by myself in an exercise room in my building. If I'm lucky, Garrett will join me and we will try to work out together (if he has no meetings). Lastly, a small nightly routine is to eat dinner at the same time each night. Even if it is leftovers (which it usually is) we sit down at 7:00 and watch one episode of a TV show together. After this, it is time to relax, read, and then get ready to do it all again the next day! What are some of the little things and routines that you and your family do to create the "new normal" at home?
